So, I walked out of World market with my mom today, and as we're walking, we are discussing the car i'll be buying as my first in the next 3-4 months. I've been dead-set on the Fiesta ST, but my mom has been less than enthusiastic. Suddenly, she stops and says "ooh, what's that?" I turn around, and standing right next to her is a brand new Nissan Juke Nismo with a manual transmission . I proceed to tell her it's Nissan's only interesting car, to which she responds "A friend of mine is a Nissan salesperson, and she said she could get me a deal on any Nissan!"

Kinja'd!!!

So basically, my mom digs the Juke Nismo so much, that she is going to attempt to get me one as my first car. I am stupefied! I actually really like the Juke's looks, and I know what's hiding under the hood. This is a good development! hopefully, i'll have a Juke Nismo to speak about in 3-4 months!

wow the Fiesta ST is probably so much better it's not even funny.

Not saying Juke Nismos are bad cars (I dig the looks as much as you) but the Fiesta blows it out of the water.

Nice! I also like the looks although I know they're pretty polarizing; the overall package seems like a good recipe for fun.

No, I completely agree, the fiesta is the better car of the two. THe fact that both my mom and I like the juke, and the fact we can get it for less ten a fiesta is what my mom is happy about. Still, i'll drive both when the time comes and pick whichever I like better

I don't know how it drives, by fun I mean fun looks.

in a straight line they're about the same at least.

Yeah you're probably right about that, but as a whole the Fiesta seems much better.

I haven't driven a Juke so I can't really say. I'd test drive both and get the one that makes me happiest. Both aren't quick enough for my tastes :P

I'll be honest, i wouldn't like neither of those options, but the fact that you want a manual makes me happy for you.

It was going well, aggressively styled front bumper, low side skirts, nice(ish) rims, blacked out grille. And then this. The little flag at the end. So close to something I wouldn't throw my shoe at in disgust.

Although, it is growing on me... ... ... like a fungus.

I like it, I'd have one myself, but... At the age when you're getting your first car, being good to drive really isn't important. You'll have fun driving the worst pile of junk on the road. What's also important at that age is how many girls you can pick up. Unless you're gay (or bi and after the boys), in which case, awesome, great car and boy-magnet. But for the ladies, you want something small, red, and Italian. Which in the US means the 500 rather than the Panda, sadly, but you take what you can get.

Show your mum a 500, then 'accidentally' let slip what Nismo means.

Juke Nismo is cool, so is a Fiesta ST. But seriously, check out 500 Abarth prices in your area, they are dirt cheap in my metro.

Not offering the AWD with a manual is the most depressing thing Nissan has done with this carcar

Trust me, I'd love an Abarth, but mom (the benefactor behind the car) knows what Abarth is, since my clever stepdad thought it'd be fun to test-drive a Cabrio one with my mom. on the freeway. at speeds that would've warranted a huge ticket, so it's out of the question

Well, yeah... That will be it's one downside. Still, I'm hawt enough to attract all the good looking females I could want :D

And I've considered the 500, but there are a few drawbacks to it...

1)Too small! I'm 5'11", and can't fit comfortably in one with my long legs. Also, I need to drive both me and my sister to school (at least) on a daily basis in it.
2) Too underpowered! 101hp just isn't enough for me... The abarth is out of the question, since mom knows how fast it is.
3)Overpriced... for what it is.

Yeah... My mom knows cars surprisingly well. Most of the fun cars I could get are out of the question. GTI and GLI? forget about it! WRX, The rally car? HA! good one! Mazdaspeed3? The one that has the "Steering problem"? (torquesteer) It's unsafe!

The only reason the fiesta is on the list is because I told her it makes 190 horsepower, not 197 (that's what my stepdad's GTI makes)

$20,000, but it can be stretched a few thousand for a car either mom or I really like.
Requirements I have are:
-Manual
-Good Sound System
-fun to drive
-easy to drive in town
-can seat 4 in relative comfort
-can fit 3 people and their ski equipment

The Abarth is only 160hp. So I don't see why she would be ok with a Fiesta and not an Abarth.

Yeah, it does only have 160hp, but it has a notchy, tight gearbox, a sharp steering wheel, and harsh suspension. Mom's been in them and driven them. She knows how fast they can be in the twisties. The fiesta looks and behaves a lot more civilized, I contrast
